Custom Development

custom2We develop and build all kinds of electronics, be it a simple baseboard for an ETX module or a highly complex processor platform using a contemporary high-performance processor. Our highly qualified engineers have experience with the most diverse processors types. Among those are x86 and Pentium compatibles as well as processors with Xscale or MIPS architecture. Various microcontrollers can be utilized, too.

Our PCB designers do layouts up to 16 layers, if needed with flexible
parts (flex-foil), in all available materials. We have done Polyimide-based embedded PC modules for military applications, where high vibration resistance ("gun-fire resistance") is essential. The board formats are free: we can build complete PC systems as small as 70 x 70 x 25 mm³ or as large as pizza-sized ones.custom2 It is of course possible to qualify and test your devices in extended temperature ranges, for shock and vibration resistance as well as for low electromechanical interference (EMI). We work with you from conception to delivery of the finished product. If necessary, we make feasibility studies and advise you to find the best possible solution before the real development is started. Together with you we write a functional design description that serves as the base for the development.

We also take care of BIOS and other boot software, as well as of hardware drivers for several operating systems. Our experience comprises all versions of Windows, Linux, VxWorks and a range of other general purpose and real-time operating systems.

Our outstanding support personnel helps you with the inevitable problems that occur after delivery. High quality levels are assured for each and every step of development and production. We handle our business in accordance to an ISO-9001 approved quality process.

If you want to check out the possibilities, please send the following information to our project management: A short specification of your device (one or two pages are usually sufficient) that contains also information about

  • Your estimated yearly volume
  • The estimated lifetime of the device
  • Your price tag for the complete device

After all open questions are resolved, we'll come back to you with a preliminary project plan, project description and estimated prices for the development as well as for the prototypes and the released production devices.

Based on the above information, a contract will be worked out, the financial issues are settled and agreed upon.

After the contract is in effect, the work according to the project plan is
started. The first thing to do is to together write the above mentioned Functional Design Descrition. This document describes the new device in the most detailed way possible at this time. Furthermore, even at this early stage of the project, it can be used to create a test description and the final product documentation. It becomes part of the contract when both parties have reached an agreement about it. The hardware and PCB design is only done after that document is completed.
