22.10.08 Maximum Performance: The Cool XpressRunner Core 2 Duo Processor On PCI/104-Express
LiPPERT Embedded Computers’ first PCI/104-Express board is the Cool XpressRunner-GS45. It is the fastest PCI/104-Express module on the market, utilizing the computing power of the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and the mobile GS45 chipset to create a small, 3.77" by 4.55", PCI/104-Express board. Advanced semiconductor technology with tiny 45 nanometer structures makes it possible to construct processors with minimum power consumption at clock rates above 2 GHz. The low power consumption is the key to the small size of this full-fledged single board computer. The board can be equipped with up to one Gigabyte of soldered DDR3-RAM, which enhances the performance even further. The used Intel Mobile GS45 chipset features a fast integrated GMA X4500 graphics engine. It supports SDVO over PCI Express; video options also include VGA and dual channel LVDS interfaces. High definition audio inputs and outputs take care of the sound. There is Gigabit LAN, 8 USB 2.0 host port and two serial interfaces capable of RS232 or RS485. Two SATA adapters round the system's hardware off. Integrated LEMT functions provide secure flash memory and other housekeeping. The Cool XpressRunner is intended for applications requiring high performance mobile computing. The optionally available extended temperature range makes it very well suited for outdoor usage.
